The Metal music industry is one of the most competitive, with some of the most renowned bands having their origins in the United States. However, there are a few bands that have risen from other parts of the world by creating original sounds and coming up with innovative performances. Here is a look at Latin Metal bands that have made exceptional progress in the industry.

5. A.N.I.M.A.L

To start off the list is the Argentinian band by the name A.N.I.M.A.L. It is known for combining Groove Metal, Nu Metal, and Thrash Metal to produce something that is quite entertaining to audiences throughout the world. Its current membership consists of Andrez Gimenez, Cristian Lapolla and Marcello Castro. The band shot to fame in the mid-90s and up to the early 2000s, touring several Latin countries, the United States, and Europe during its peak years. Some of its top tracks include “Nomes Amb Tu,” “Loco Pro,” “Fets a Mida” and “Aura.”

4. Hermetica

This band has its origins in San Martin, Buenos Aires. Founded in 1987 by renowned bassist Ricardo Iorio, the band became the first to record a Thrash Metal album in Argentina. Although it was disbanded in 1994, it is still regarded as one of the pioneers of Metal in Argentina. Before disbandment, some of its members were Ricardo Iorio, Claudio Strunz, Claudio O’Connor and Antonio Romano. Some of its top songs include “Memoria de Siglos”, “Olvidalo y Volvera por Mas” and “Soy de la Esquina.”

3. Sepultura

If you thought Metal is only popular in the US, think again. Sepultura is a Brazilian band that was formed in 1984 in Belo Horizonte. It was founded by two brothers named Max and Igor Cavalera. While both its founders departed, it remains one of the best Metal bands from outside the United States. Its current membership consists of lead vocalist Derrick Green, Paulo Jr., who plays bass and backup vocals, Andreas Kisser, the lead guitarist, and Eloy Casagrande, the drummer and percussionist. To date the band has produced 14 studio albums. Some of its top songs include “Roots Bloody Roots,” “Sepulnation” and “I am the Enemy.”

2. Krisiun

This is another Brazilian band that was formed by brothers Alex Camargo and Moyses Kolesne. It was founded in 1990 and has released 10 studio albums and 1 live album. Its current membership is made up of Alex Camargo who is the lead vocalist and bassist, Moyses Kolesne who plays the guitar, and Max Kolesne who is the drummer. Some of the band’s most popular songs include “Blood of Lions,” “The Will to Potency” and “Scars of the Hatred.”

1. Ill Nino

This is an American band formed in New Jersey in the year 1998. It was originally named El Nino but rebranded to its current name. Some of its members include Christian Machado who was its founder and lead vocalist, Dave Chavarri who is a drummer, Lazaro Pina the bassist, and Ahrue Luster the lead guitarist. The band has produced 7 studio albums and sold over 1.3 million records throughout the world. Some of its most popular songs are “Forgive Me Father,” “I Am Loco,” “I’m Not the Enemy,” and “With You.”
