Transcript of the Show
[INTRO]This is Pariah Burke. I’m currently on a fieldtrip to prove COVID-19 is all Carole Baskins’s fault before my source is fed to the tigers, so this week’s show is a classic rebroadcast of an episode filled with sexy, nasty Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, and Hair Bands from the 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s, 20-teens, and today.
—————————————-
BulletBoys – Hard As A Rock
—————————————-
Welcome to the Hard, Heavy & Hair Show, your weekly dose of Hard Rock, Metal, and Hair Bands from the 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s, and 20-teens, including the latest new releases, your old favorites, and deep cuts and rare hair that slipped through the cracks of mainstream radio.
Thank you for joining me.
I’m Pariah Burke, your hard talking, heavy drinking, hairball of a horny hedonist. And I’m hornier than usual.
It’s something about the Fall. Maybe it’s the cold weather and cozying up together under blankets or in front of fireplaces. Or maybe its that Fall puts me in doors more at bars, live shows, strip clubs, and in Starbucks where I meet a lot of Pumpkin Spice-loving stay-at-home wives and moms. [Heh] There are definite advantages to being self-employed and being able to spend school hours in someone else’s bed.
All this smash-mindedness has invaded my music listening, too.
Consequently, the majority of this week’s show is about my favorite sin.
Lube up your ears, I’m going to bone your brain pan with songs that ain’t talking’ bout love, starting by double-teaming you with Van Halen.
—————————————-
Van Halen – Ain’t Talkin’ ‘Bout Love
Van Halen – Dirty Movies
—————————————-
From Van Halen Four, otherwise known as Fair Warning, that was deep cut “Dirty Movies.” If it doesn’t quite make sense to you, allow me to explain.
Before the Internet was invented…
[clip – For Porn]Right. Well, before the Internet was born
[clip – For Porn]…Porn was shown in movie theaters, as PeeWee Herman was well-aware in 1991.
[clip – PeeWee Herman]Yeah, that was a CNN broadcast from July 26, 1991. If you’re too young to remember that, Saturday morning kids show host and movie star Paul Reubens, aka PeeWee Herman, was busted masturbating in a porn theatre–you know, doing what every guy everywhere now does with his cell phone.
Back then, and back in 19-EIGHTY-One when Van Halen released the song “Dirty Movies,” porn was shown up on the silver screen in places like Times Square, New York City. So, that Van Halen song is all about..
[clip – For Porn]And that was two years before the birth of Lzzy Hale, the front woman of Halestorm who grew up to become arguably the Hard Rock voice of healthy female sexuality. Here she is, getting off on you getting off on her. This is Halestorm, “I Get Off.”
—————————————-
Halestorm – I Get Off
—————————————-
More sex and Rock N’ Roll after a few words from the folks who pay for my Amazon Prime pantry monthly delivery of condoms.
This next band is signed to Nikki Sixx’s music label, Eleven Seven Music. In fact, it was Sixx who suggested the band’s name. From Baltimore, Maryland, this Charm City Devils with their latest, “Skipping Stone.”
—————————————-
Charm City Devils – Skipping Stone
Saint Asonia – The Hunted [Feat. Sully Erna]
—————————————-
Featuring Godsmack’s Sully Erna, that was Saint Asonia with “The Hunted,” which is up this week to number 13 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Chart and the MediaBase Active Rock chart.
Ready for your first Cover Song of the Week clue?
The Cover Song of the Week original was released in 1982. It reached Number 45 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart and received critical praise. It featured guitar and keyboard riffs one critic, John Serba, said “would rot Elivs Costello’s teeth.” In the book Shake Some Action: The Ultimate Power Pop Guide, author John M. Borack described the song thusly: “Guitar riffs don’t come any simpler than this one, but the keyboard squiggles, horny lyrics and head-bobbing rhythms on this one are undeniably fun.”
What song was that? Who was the original band?
Remember: the first clue is always the hardest. More and easier Cover Song of the Week clues later.
Let’s get back to the sex on this hot and horny Hard, Heavy & Hair with Danger Danger because “Everybody Wants Some.”
—————————————-
Danger Danger – Everybody Wants Some
Poison – Look but You Can’t Touch
—————————————-
“Look But You Can’t Touch” from Poison’s Open Up and Say Aah.
Coming up is new Kirk Windstein along with Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Any Given Sin, and plenty more.
This is the Hard, Heavy & Hair Show, and we’re playing all kinds of songs that ain’t talkin’ ’bout love. Def Leppard knows what I’m sayin’.
—————————————-
Def Leppard – Pour Some Sugar on Me
—————————————-
“Pour Some Sugar On Me,” the album version from Hysteria, a song about pure, sweet sex.
Have you heard the rumor that Def Leppard, Poison, and… Motley Crue are rumored to be building a triple-bill, co-headlining tour in 2020?
Well, it’s NOT just a rumor! Mötley Crue just confirmed it! The Crue is back, baby! Have a listen to their video announcement!
[Clip – Mötley Crüe Is Back!]This is fraking awesome! I’ll have more details for you as they become available. If you want to watch the explosive announcement video, hit PariahRocks.com and watch it in the show notes.
Speaking of Motley Crue…
Susan M. in Rhode Island reached out to me on Twitter and requested I play Motley Crue for her. And, holy hell, Susan has the looks that kill! So here you are, Susan, Motley Crue–but not just one Crue song, I think you deserve a double-team of Motley Crue, starting with a song I’m dedicating to you: “Looks That Kill.”
—————————————-
Mötley Crüe – Looks That Kill
Mötley Crüe – This Ain’t a Love Song
—————————————-
“This Ain’t a Love Song” wrapping up a double-team of Motley Crue songs for beautiful blonde New Englander Susan who follows the Hard, Heavy & Hair Show Twitter account @PariahRocks. Susan, in the vernacular of our generation, you’re a major babe. Call me.
While I sit by the phone with bated breath and most definitely impure thoughts, let’s listen to platinum-selling “Topless” from Breaking Benjamin.
—————————————-
Breaking Benjamin – Topless [Radio Edit]
—————————————-
Coming up in the next hour is more raunchy, nasty, horny Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, and Hair Bands including Kiss, Slaughter, Warrant, and others, along with more new music, the Cover Song of the Week, and plenty of other things to keep you wet or hard.
You got ta turn the heat up with “Raw in the Middle” from a band that took its name from a Cheap Trick album. This is Dream Police followed by the latest from a supergroup featuring members of Judas Priest, Alice Cooper, Ozzy Osbourne, Dio, and the Scorpions.
—————————————-
Dream Police – Raw in the Middle
A New Revenge – The Way
—————————————-
“The Way,” the latest from A New Revenge, a supergroup that includes Tim “Ripper” Owens, former frontman for Judas Priest, as well as Keri Kelli, James Kottak from the Scorpions, and Phil Soussan, who has played bass for Ozzy, Dio, Billy Idol, Vince Neil’s band, and more. A New Revenge was formerly called Project Rock when they still played with Teddy Zig-Zag.
Although not featuring James Kottak, here’s the Scorpions from 1990’s Crazy World LP. This is the first single off that album, released 29 years ago this week, “Tease Me Please Me” on Hard, Heavy & Hair.
—————————————-
Scorpions – Tease Me Please Me
—————————————-
And, when you just can’t wait to bang in some place classy like the alley behind the club or a parked car, you can hookup in the ladies room like Gene Simmons. This is KISS, “Ladies Room.”
—————————————-
KISS – Ladies Room
—————————————-
You can’t be too soon. So I’ll meet you, meet you in the ladies room. That’s class there. But, hey, sometimes doing it from behind in a stall or holding her off the ground up against that metal wall is exactly what you need.
You know what else you need? Another Cover Song of the Week clue. Here’s clue number 2.
The Cover Song of the Week original was written by a guitarist Nikki Sixx once famously peed on.
Here’s a bonus clue.
The song title is about, heh, I have to be careful here because many of the stations that air the Hard, Heavy & Hair Show are subject to FCC indecency rules. Let’s just say the song is about the snugness of the tunnel of love.
Keep it hot. We’ll be right back.
Still hot and horny? Good! ‘Cause I’ve got Salty Dog, Hinder, and WASP for you. Let’s “Heave Hard (She Comes Easy)” from 1990.
—————————————-
Salty Dog – Heave Hard (She Comes Easy)
W.A.S.P. – Animal (Fuck Like a Beast)
—————————————-
A song born again Blackie Lawless patently refuses to play live these days, that was “Animal (F Like a Beast)” from WASP.
Here’s another song to leave you feeling kind of sleazy–which, personally, I’m totally cool with. Ain’t no shame in my walk of shame. This is “Use Me” by Hinder.
—————————————-
Hinder – Use Me
—————————————-
Coming up is the Cover Song of the Week, Warrant, Kirk Windstein gone solo, and more.
If you’re a long-time listener of the Hard, Heavy & Hair Show you already know this next song, by Warrant, has personal significance for me and is tied to a cherished memory. Let’s start a three-way of Melodic Hard Rock with “Love in Stereo” from the Cherry Pie album on Hard, Heavy & Hair.
—————————————-
Warrant – Love in Stereo
Slaughter – Tongue N’ Groove
Babylon Shakes – Velveteen Libertine
—————————————-
That last song was “Velveteen Libertine” from a rising star band that has just called it quits.
Babylon Shakes, signed to HighVolMusic, just announced that they’re done with Melodic Hard Rock and Metal. They’ve renamed themselves to the Blouse Brothers–B-L-O-U-S-E–and are going to play only old, old Blues- and Country-inspired Rock N’ Roll. The change is already a fait accompli. Although that sucks for fans of Babylon Shakes, I’m glad Chris Clark and the rest of the guys found a musical direction that truly excites them. Again, Chris, I wish you and the guys the best of luck.
Before Babylon Shakes was Slaughter, a request for a naughty, naughty girl who asked me not to name her on the air lest her husband, who also listens to the show, suspect what we’ve really got going on every other Tuesday. The song was “Tongue N’ Grove” from 1997’s Revolution LP.
Crowbar’s Kirk Windstein has gone solo, and this is his first effort, “Dream In Motion,” on Hard, Heavy & Hair.
—————————————-
Kirk Windstein – Dream In Motion
—————————————-
The Cover Song of the Week is just around the corner, so I’d better get you your third clue.
The modern Hard Rock and Glam band doing the Hard Rock Cover Song of the Week is literally all about sex, drugs, and Rock N’ Roll. It’s their entire schtick. In fact, these hair rockers advocate death to all but Metal.
Think about that and the previous clues.
The Cover Song of the Week is next.
[COW]Written by Rick Nielsen, the man Nikki Sixx peed on, the song about… the snugness of the tunnel of love… is from the 1982 Epic Records album One on One. That album, as well as the Cover Song of the Week original, is by Cheap Trick.
The band doing the cover of Cheap Trick’s “She’s Tight” is none other than farcical Glam Metallers Steel Panther. From their 2017 Lower the Bar LP, this is Steel Panther with “She’s Tight,” the Hard, Heavy & Hair Cover Song of the Week.

Steel Panther – She’s Tight
Cheap Trick – She’s Tight
—————————————-
Cheap Trick original “She’s Tight” following the Steel Panther cover version, the Hard, Heavy & Hair Cover Song of the Week.
As you might have inferred by my usual introduction at the top of the show, I know a little something about kinky sex, domming, and topping. So let’s do some impact play with Faster Pussycat. This is “Where There’s a Whip There’s a Way.”
—————————————-
Faster Pussycat – Where There’s a Whip There’s a Way
—————————————-
